There is a great deal of information available on most social and educational problems. But, often, research results seem to contradict one another. Articles and evaluations are often not written to be useful for practitioners and program developers. It is difficult and extremely time consuming to sift through all of the available research, synthesize a variety of findings, and draw systematic conclusions about the research base on a particular topic.
